Molatelo Bossman is multiple award-winning television news and current affairs producer Molatelo is an award-winning filmmaker, social entrepreneur, and seasoned media professional with over 22 years of experience in the television and film industry. As the Founder and Managing Director of Bolobathaba Media Group, a dynamic film and digital media production company and academy, Molatelo has built a reputation for innovation and leadership in the African media landscape.
Before founding her company, Molatelo worked across various high-profile media organizations, including SABC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and eNCA. Her extensive career began as a freelance producer, director, editor and writer and evolved into a distinguished producer of news, current affairs, and documentary content, where she covered Sub-Saharan Africa. Molatelo’s impactful work in media earned her the prestigious UN Media Award in 2007. Molatelo’s commitment to the development of emerging filmmakers and content creators is evident through her various mentoring initiatives. She received the 2021 South African Film and Television Award (SAFTAs) for Outstanding Provincial Contributor for her role in nurturing young filmmakers in rural South Africa.
Her debut documentary feature, When Babies Don’t Come (2018), won multiple international awards and was a finalist in the Best Documentary category at the 2018 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), among other accolades. Molatelo continues to work as a story consultant with the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) and the KZN Film Commission, helping to shape the next generation of filmmakers. In addition to her consultancy work, Molatelo serves as a part-time facilitator and assessor at the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA), furthering her passion for education and industry development. Molatelo also runs her group of companies Bolobathaba Media Group, Africa Institute of Multimedia and BoloStudios; all geared towards the development and growth of the creative and multimedia sectors.
