Best Director
Deepa Jacob is an aspiring Indian filmmaker/photographer based out of Boston, USA. She has been creating fine art portraitures since 2011 and has made her mark as a photographer. She has created a short film "Ketchup", in 2012 and "Manu" is her second venture as a filmmaker. Her engaging visual design, which is evident in her vibrant photographs, is seen throughout this short film as well.
"I am fascinated with the art of story telling. I have been doing that using photographs and now I find film as a better media to tell the stories. I want to create movies that engage the audience and has something positive to say. When I made my first little movie back in 2012, I was mostly exploring the various areas of moviemaking. And with "Manu" wanted to venture more into the story telling aspect . This was challenging especially with a low budget and amateur cast and crew; but at the end creating something out of nothing gives me extreme satisfaction and joy."
