Maksym Osa

Ukraine - 1636. Someone has attacked a battalion of cossaks that were transporting the gold of the Polish king. A cossak - Maksym Osa (Wasp) - tries to find the missing gold, but soon becomes one of the main suspects. Local lord, Pshelutsky, allows the cossak to conduct the investigation to find the missing gold. All the evidence lead Osa to a werewolf who, according to the legends, inhabits the local forests. But who controls the werewolf? Lord’s daughter Marynka, his wife Helen, the lord himself, their majordomo, or the local thugs? After the murder of lady Helen, the case becomes all the more twisted. The Forest Witch has to warn Osa - don’t believe your own eyes.

Director Biography - Myroslav Latyk

Myroslav Latyk was born in 1980 in Bolekhiv, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
In 1998-2001 he studied at the Journalism Faculty (Lviv State University).
In 2006 he graduated from University named after Karpenko-Karyi (Kyiv) with a degree in Feature Film Directing.
Director of short films "Postfactum" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAlk2j6zj4M (2003, participation in the festival "Molodist" and the jury award of the festival "Vidkryta Nich"), and "MANU 18347" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyC0M50v7Es (2012, Grand Prix of the "Vidkryta Nich" Festival).
Since 2003 he has worked on TV - as a director of the project "Mistychni Istorii"(6 seasons) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KMsoEiw7v0&feature=youtu.be, director of the series "Stringer" (2011) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rA8GnzrWJ54 and "Zakhvat" (2013).
In 2010, as a director-producer, he made a full-length documentary "Svoia-chuzha batkivshchyna"(eng. "Yours/somebody’s homeland") about the return of Crimean Tatars (for Al Jazeera World channel).
In 2015, he became the director and screenwriter of the first Ukrainian web-series "5baksiv.net" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VcJ1-LpQrI (joint project with BBC Media Action). Received the Grand Prix of BilbaoWebFest-2016 and the best director prize.
