The Last Day
25th of April 1945, day of the Italian Liberation. The German Army, a broken and already defeated army, marches through three small villages in the countryside of Parma. Surrounded by the Allied forces and the partisan brigades, the nazi troops raid and massacre the local population in the same day that today is celebrated as the day that put an end to the violences of the Second World War in Italy. The story of this grotesque violence is narrated in this short-movie by the witnesses, kids at the time of the events, in a series of moving interviews edited alternating shots of the villages today and archival video-materials by the Allied troops in 1945.
