Raised across multiple cities in the US and India, Pavitra is a visual storyteller driven by a curiosity for emotional depth and cultural identity in her narratives. She has specialized in both concept development and technical animation, blending creative vision with technical skill throughout her work. Software-agnostic and always experimenting with look development, Pavitra uses tools like Unreal Engine to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.
She led a motion graphics project for WWE, illustrated for a freelance poetry book, and served as a resident assistant during college. Her painterly 2D influences carry through into her CG work, adding warmth and depth to her visual style. Driven by empathy, Pavitra gravitates toward projects that explore untold emotional landscapes, drawing on the intricacies of human connection and the richness of lived experience.
Growing up in a fast-paced tech family, I’ve always felt like everyone around me was running an invisible race against time. My brother, a Computer Science major, often seemed caught in a whirlwind of to-do lists and deadlines. But I’ve always found joy in the quiet pauses—those simple, technology-free moments we spend driving together, playing board games, or cooking together.
The idea for Little Moments came to life when I watched the silent trailer for The Wild Robot. Something about it made time feel like it stopped—every frame filled with space to breathe and just be. That feeling deeply influenced not just the emotion behind our film, but also its visual direction. I was lucky enough to attend a behind-the-scenes panel at the Annecy Film Festival, where I got to learn directly from the lead artists on The Wild Robot. Their blend of conceptual depth and technical mastery, along with the children’s book-inspired 3D style, left a lasting impression on me.
At a time when the animation industry is opening up to more cultural stories, I was incredibly grateful to collaborate with a team that truly cared about representing Indian culture with honesty and elegance.
Making this film has been one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had. More than anything, I hope it encourages people to slow down, take a pause, and really take in their own little moments.
