'no one sees us' is a short film that follows Emma, a Maltese woman groomed into prostitution since her infancy, exploring the quiet fears, violence and resilience that accompany growing up in such an environment.

The film was commissioned by Dar Hosea and sponsored by Academy of Givers.

Director Biography - Francesca Zammit

Francesca holds a Bachelors in Dance Studies and a Master in Film Studies from the University of Malta. Francesca has worked for various cultural institutions, including the Cineteca di Bologna (Italy), Teatru Salesjan, Opening Doors and Refugee Week Festival (Malta). She is currently working in the Film Industry in Malta.
Her first short film ‘Rabbit Stew’ was produced in 2021, a the height of the Covid pandemic, and it has since won Best Director at the Malta Youth Film Festival (2022), Best Student Film at the Repton Film Festival and was selected for the EUNIC film Festival in September 2022.
