La Provisoria
One of the last mansions in downtown Buenos Aires that will be torn down soon is the meeting place of bohemian young people and street artists that live together in harmony with nature. Living a free and healthy life is their priority and they do not pay much attention to what is going on in the city, not even to the emptyness coming with the demolition of the house.

I grew up in a marginal neighborhood in the South of Buenos Aires. Fiction always has been my anchor to the earth. I started working as an actress when I was a child, like my brothers, and working their lines with them made me realize that I love telling stories.
I learned about movie-making in CIEVYC, SICA, Guionarte, among others, and I worked in independent video clips. "Just Passing Through" is my first movie as a director.
"Just Passing Through" is a full-length fiction movie that describes a philosophy of life which started in the 60's. Nowadays this philosophy, far from disappearing, is growing between millennials and centennials all over the world. This philosophy gathers people who want to live outside the system, not warlikely, but more willing to connect with themselves, others and Nature. Its core is in the underground part of the city and rural communities.
It is one of the most numerous movement in the world, and yet there is still no story representing it in the movie industry. In order to be consistent with this life style, the narrative focus is not on external obstacles but on internal ethical dilemmas. Likewise the way of overcoming conflicts is more important than the conflict itself. As a complement of this purpose, the five characters reflect five typical archetypes of this philophy of life.
This work was created as a whole : content and form come together. We are a cooperative of 87 artists (10 countries) to shoot in a 100% self-management way. We used 1970's adpated lenses to respect the ethics of the first hippies records. We made 50% of the light artefacts using recycled elements. The costumes came from flea markets and second-hand clothes shops. We worked with professional as well as with street actors, musicians, circus performers, contact-improvisation dancers and graffiti artists to show the bohemian and underground world as it is.
