Kutaisi is the second largest and one of the oldest cities of Georgia. It boasts a diverse historical and cultural heritage - dinosaur footprints, a myth of the Argonauts, the UNESCO-protected architectural monuments, Kutaisi having been the ancient capital of Georgia for centuries as well as a 112-year-old film making tradition.
The Festival will bring cinema back to Kutaisi. Kutaisi International Short Film Festival will revive cultural life in the region and help the city celebrate cinema annually.

The Festival’s focus is on short films and it aims at discovering new talents and voices in film industry and cinema. The Festival will highlight the importance and the values of short films with an aim to revive its popularity among public.

The next edition will be held on 20-25 October and the events will include lectures, master-classes and workshops.

Prizes and awards.

Prizes will be awarded in these categories: The Best Film, The Best Director and The Best Cinematographer in Main International Competition.

The winners will receive the Golden Dinosaur prizes and both winners will be invited to 2024 edition in Kutaisi with fully funded trip

Independent Film Critics’ Jury
The jury comprised of independent film critics will choose their favorite short film.

Rules and terms:

By submitting your film, you agree that Kutaisi International Short Film Festival can use parts of your film (including trailer/teaser/film poster) for promotional purpose.

To submit a film, you must have created the project yourself, own the rights or have permission from the owner of the content to submit the film to us.

PLEASE READ THE RULES BELOW THOROUGHLY BEFORE SUBMITTING:

You must fully comply with these Entry Rules & Regulations, including all deadlines, film length, entry material and other requirements


1. All entries must come with English subtitles.

2. No animations.

3. All entries must have been completed AFTER 2022, July 1

4. You must own or be given all of the rights to anything you submit to the festival.

5. Submitting materials length for Short films and Short Documentaries is 10 to 35 minute.

6. Selected films will be announced in 15 august and submitters will be notified.

Kutaisi International Short Film Festival AWARDS will review films in their entirety. Films will be watched and reviewed by members of the Selection Committee; a professional group of filmmakers, film enthusiasts and critics. Films are scored accordingly.

Please also note that the fee paid for submitting the film to the Festival does not guarantee its selection. The fee is non-refundable if the film is not selected.

    It was great! Everything was wonderful! People are there very friendly! They received us as kings! Beautiful hotel over the river, everyday fantastic restaurants with many and many delicious meals! Beautiful old town with the big theatre where there was opening and closing ceremony. Besides main competitions we could see interesting programs of French, Georgian, Chinese cinema and so on.
