Kerguelen, imaginary exploration

Unrecognized, forgotten, "desolate" French southern and Antarctic land, the archipelago of some 300 Kerguelen islands is located 3,245 km south-east of Madagascar, south of the Indian Ocean. Shaped by the need and the fantasy of a primitive freedom, this film invites you on an imaginary and musical journey, mixing fiction, concert and documentary (film images from the 60s, shot there, in "Ker"), in these "Islands of Desolation", alongside a fictional adventurer taking his name from a historic shipwrecked man from Kerguelen: John Nunn.
