John co-wrote and directed his first short film, Battle Scars, in his final year at the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) which went on to win, "Best Undergraduate Drama", at the Royal Television Society (Republic of Ireland) Student Television Awards in March 2016.

Since graduating from DIT with a BA (Hons) in Film & Broadcasting, John has actively pursued his passions for writing and directing.

John's second short film, Little Devil, wrapped post-production in May 2017 and he is currently working on a third short, a thriller.
