All Night Long
Teenage slumber party meets Halloween meets Michael Jackson-inspired extended length professionally produced music video. With the original music of Jay Slay and sultry vocals by Kelly Alaina, the lyrics tell a spooky tale of love, told in a music video designed with appeal to all ages in mind. The original track was a Beatport Staff Pick, and its 10 remixes tied for #1 most added electro tracks on North American indie FM radio in May 2020. It's a story about yearning and the fleeting nature of life in which she brings to being her love, a creature who she can only be with for one night. The video also features accomplished performer Michelle Molineux.

Jay Slay - electronic music artist

@jayslaymusic
Jay builds upon a proven record of success and dedication. His original track, "All Night Long," is his 3rd Beatport Staff Pick, in addition to 7 previous Top 10s and 1 Featured Track jayslay.lnk.to/allnightlong. His ability to create memorable melodies, groovy basslines, and original lyrics and vocals led South American label Digital Empire Records to host 4 remix competitions for his original tracks. The "All Night Long" remixes tied for #1 most added electro tracks to independent FM radio in North America in May 2020, and the "Keep On Lovin'" remixes (under previous artist name J-Hamz) charted at #13 for North American electronic genre FM radio airplay. His music has been played on 120+ FM stations, and on multiple online/in-store services around the globe in restaurants, stores, and hotels such as Subway, McDonald's, and Hilton Hotels. He's had major Spotify playlist support with over 100,000 plays for "Keep On Lovin'," twice been supported on Showtek's Favorite's playlist, and on YouTube channels such as ElectroDanceMixes with 1.4 million subscribers.
The Edmonton Journal featured Jay in a June 2020 interview bit.ly/edmontonjournalvems. He's also served as a facilitator for the 2020 Virtual Electronic Music Summit's "Pandemic Panic Panel," as a panelist for the "Mental Health and Self-Care for Artists" discussion at the Alberta Electronic Music Conference 2019, and had a nomination for 2017 Electronic Recording of the Year at the Edmonton Music Awards for "I'd Do Anything".
Not only a versatile DJ who can play anything from chillout to hard electro to entirely original sets, he's a credentialed musician with 20 years classical music training in piano, a Bachelor of Music degree, a Royal Conservatory diploma in Piano Performance, and years working as a collaborative musician. Inspired by the classical greats such as J. S. Bach, Chopin, and Debussy, and influenced by modern electronic masters such as Calvin Harris, Zedd, and Avicii, Jay's advanced musical understanding sets him apart, with complex harmonies and chord progressions, and precisely interlocking rhythmic layers.
Notable DJ appearances include Nextfest Arts Festival 2020, HouseBootlegs.com's Amsterdam Dance Event Night 2019, The Womp 2019, The Womp New Years Eve 2020 and 2019, direct opening for Defunk May 2019, and direct opening for Vekked, 7 time world DJ championship winner at "Velvet & Velour Valentine's" in February 2020, the first event produced by Jay's own events company, Vibe Raiders.

With a catchy original song that tied for #1 most added in the electronic genre on North American indie FM radio in May 2020, talented performers, a story rich in imagery, themes of monsters and magic and the fleeting nature of love and existence, and a creative team with more ideas than we knew what to do with, it seemed all signs were wanting us to bring "All Night Long" to life in the form of a music video.
Just when everything seemed aligned, we could not have foreseen how many hurdles we'd face in bringing our project to fruition. Restaurants and bars we reached out to were not interested in having us film in their venues, and we did not receive the grant applications we had hoped for. Rules and regulations seemed beyond our abilities to navigate. Then, due to the pandemic, our annual local music awards were cancelled for the year, and an independent movie theater interested in airing our video has closed.
In spite of all this, we felt that our story needed to be told. With persistence and determination, we found other ways. We saved up. We took our time and made sense of all of the applications, contracts, and paperwork required. We even found two historic buildings ideally suiting the aesthetic we aspired to, who were excited to work with us. And, reflecting our values of acceptance and inclusivity, one of our filming days was an open invite, for anyone who wanted to take part.
The cinematography, sets, props, lighting, and color schemes were all carefully chosen. As our first project, we aspired for all the aspects to work in harmony to create a memorable visual experience that would appeal to a broad audience, and yet was still appropriate for all ages. It was an honor to work with this talented team, and it is our sincere hope that you enjoy "All Night Long" from start to finish as much as we enjoyed the process and the journey.
