Io rimango qui
ABSTRACT
“I stay here” evokes the nostalgia of the youthful years for those who grew up in the 80s, telling of their close bond with their place of origin and the territory.
Through the narrative structure of the documentary film, which develops within the confines of a visual poem, an internal journey unfolds thanks to images that evoke deep sensations and emotions. This work offers a delicate and sensitive narration of almost invisible stories, which are brought to the light of memory to be transformed into an emotional and visual journey.
SYNOPSIS
Sicily, 1982. Giorgio, Marta, Matteo and Alice, linked by an unbreakable friendship since childhood, grew up playing together in the courtyard of the Oratory and in the narrow alleys of their small town, chasing dreams and aspirations. Since they were children, they had bonded with a pact, a solemn promise: to search throughout their lives for that impalpable bond that would unite them forever. Their race was the inexorable passage of time which had seen them grow and become adults, without this affecting their promise. As boys, they had shouted "I'm staying here" from their usual wall, which remained in front of the horizon, motionless and complicit in guarding their memories.

An engineer by profession, he follows his passion for video making and directing by creating audiovisual projects, short films and documentaries.
He undertakes the study of directing in 2021 by following courses at the Free University of Cinema of Rome with teacher Patrizia Genovesi.
In 2016 he participated in the founding of Yes in Sicily, initially dedicating himself to the creation of travel videos and short documentaries on Sicily.
Today Giuseppe directs the video projects produced by Yes in Sicily, a project that brings together different artistic experiences to tell Sicily with a different and emotional language, carrying forward the search for a new language and focusing on "normal" stories , almost "invisible", transforming them through a visual and emotional journey into visual poems and visual stories with the aim of enhancing the places where the stories were actually experienced.

I research into visual language with uninterrupted study, extending the research to sounds, which in harmony with the images, can evoke suggestions and emotions contained in the invisible stories he tells.
