Ineffable

A cinematic exploration of a man’s journey towards freedom and expression. This film is based on a theme of passion. It shows a man's passion for music as he has to work hard and do things where he doesn't fit in to be able to fulfil this passion, to play his music.

The final product acts as a self-portrait of sorts, as it chronicles, in a symbolic way, my yearning to be free of the constraints that stop me from expressing myself fully. I hope to achieve this through the structuring of the film itself, the wardrobe of the character, the instrument, as well as the editing and compilation of sound.

I have chosen the name ‘Ineffable’ for this short film. Ineffable means "Too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words.", which I think accurately shows how a person feels about his or her passion. It also conveys the speechlessness one feels when presented with an opportunity to fully express oneself. It shows the magnificence evident when a human being shows their full potential and how beautiful it is.
