A conflicted gay man struggles to teach his younger self about the challenges of adult life. Searching for answers inside stories from his past, he must confront his nature and the man he will become.

Director Biography - Nathan Short

I began developing 'I'm Not Gay' at the end of 2018 after several years working as a videographer, choreographer, and musician. What started as a research project about gay men soon evolved into an adventure of self enquiry. Over the course of three years, I wrote, composed, choreographed, shot, edited, produced, and directed this proudly diverse Australian film.

This story was designed to be discussed, as demonstrated by the vibrant conversations and interviews dotted throughout the film. As an educator at heart, I would love to screen the film alongside a provocative Q&A regarding the issues raised herein.
