Hello, fellow cinephiles and story-chasers! I'm Hamid Baig—award-winning author, filmmaker, accidental hotelier, and full-time worshipper of caffeine, chaos, and creativity.

My storytelling journey began with the novel Little Maryam, a cross-cultural tale of love and loss. I’m currently brewing Elephant in the Soul, a genre-blending collection of short stories, poems, and razor-sharp reflections.

Trained at IHM Bhopal, I pivoted from hospitality to founding a successful market research agency—think Sherlock Holmes meets spreadsheets. But my heart belonged to cinema.

That obsession led me to the New York Film Academy, and what followed was Jinn Chapter One—a chilling short film that went on to win 32 international film festival awards and cemented my place in the indie horror scene. It’s the first in a trilogy exploring fear, faith, and the shadows we carry.

Now, my dark psychological horror-comedy screenplay Hamzaad has been selected as a Finalist at the New York International Screenplay Awards. It’s a twisted tale of identity, ego, and the jinn that doesn’t haunt you... because it wants to replace you.
