There's love in the words and gestures of Pietro and Gianfranco, two old fishermen who are committed to try to repopulate the waters of Lake Varese, Italy, with native fish species.
Passion and expertise are the values ​​they hope to pass on to the new generations to try to preserve the balance and biodiversity of a place that has been their home for a lifetime, and which is now in danger of collapsing.

C'è amore nelle parole e nei gesti di Pietro e Gianfranco, due anziani pescatori che si impegnano per provare a ripopolare le acque del Lago di Varese, Italia, con specie ittiche autoctone.
Passione e competenza sono i valori che sperano di trasmettere alle nuove generazioni per cercare di preservare l'equilibrio e la biodiversità di un luogo che è stato la loro casa per una vita, e che ora rischia il collasso.

Director Biography - Alice Gagliardi

Alice Gagliardi is an independent filmmaker from Varese, Italy. After graduating from Luchino Visconti film school in Milan, she started working as a freelance videographer, editor and vfx artist. She is very fascinated by everything that has a delicate beauty and a nostalgic feeling to it. That's why she also experiments with film photography: because it gives a soft magical touch to captured moments.
In 2015 she participated in the making of the award-winning short doc "Urban Safari" in Brussels, and in 2017 she won Filmsupply editing Challenge 2017 for Best Concept category.

Alice Gagliardi è una regista di Varese, Italia. Dopo essersi diplomata alla scuola di cinema Luchino Visconti di Milano, ha iniziato a lavorare come videomaker, montatrice e vfx artist freelance. È molto affascinata da tutto ciò che ha una bellezza delicata e nostalgica. Ecco perché sperimenta anche la fotografia su pellicola: perché dà un tocco morbido e magico ai momenti catturati.
Nel 2015 ha partecipato alla realizzazione del pluripremiato cortometraggio "Urban Safari" a Bruxelles, e nel 2017 ha vinto il Filmsupply editing Challenge 2017 per la categoria Best Concept.
