"A Certain Type of Freedom" is the second of two meditative essays on cities, youth and media; on how we connect with public space and with each other. Featuring original research and still photos from 20 cities, this film highlights the challenges facing urban youth and encourages us to rethink our relationship with technology.

Roman Gerodimos, PhD, is a political scientist and writer. He is Principal Lecturer in Global Current Affairs at Bournemouth University and faculty member at the Salzburg Academy on Media & Global Change. He is passionate about youth engagement, urban public space, art, history and politics. His debut short films, 'At the Edge of the Present' and 'A Certain Type of Freedom', are based on his research and photography in 40 cities.
