Filmmakers of the Future
"Filmmakers of the Future" welcomes five young filmmakers to share their perspective, experience and expectations in a safe, uncensored space. With an experimental approach to documentary, the film uses unconventional methods to showcase the raw, chaotic and inspiring energy of the young creatives, in attempt to preserve their true, authentic self.
Born from the feeling that young filmmakers can’t make their voices heard due to the general disinterest in inexperienced artists, the film aims to prove that their intricate perspectives deserve to reach a bigger audience, since they are the ones shaping the future of the industry. Through the open question at the end, the audience is invited to engage and reflect on the topic.

Iulia-Roxana Enciu was born in 2004 in Constanta, Romania. From an early age, she has been involved in the art world through theater and painting, later developing a passion for filmmaking. She is currently studying Film & Motion Design in Berlin, which allows her to deepen her understanding of the field and collaborate with other creatives on various projects. Mainly focusing on directing and writing, she has also gained invaluable experience in producing and editing, which allows her to coordinate her projects from both a creative and analytical perspective.
As a young filmmaker, I have noticed a lack of interest and resources that mainly affect the upcoming generation of artists. Not only do we struggle to make our creations reach a broader audience, but we also deal with general disinterest due to our lack of experience.
Unlike established people in the industry, we rarely get the opportunity to have our works showcased on big platforms or get invited to different events to talk about our vision. While it is understandable that the fascination is more focused towards bigger names, there should also be a space where the upcoming generations of filmmakers have a voice, as they are the ones shaping the future of the industry.
Through this project, I tried to create such a space for a couple of young promising filmmakers that I have met through my studies, in an attempt to showcase how diverse and unique their perspectives are, as well as include their creations so the audience gets a taste of their art style. My end goal was to create a film that encourages the public to become more interested in the upcoming filmmakers and artists in general, as I firmly believe we deserve to be heard and our perspectives are relevant.
