Selected projects will receive official festival laurels, awards, and promotion through RainbowCon's digital platforms as we continue building toward a larger LGBTQ+ entertainment convention celebrating film, television, gaming, creators, comics, and live performances.

Rules & Terms

RainbowCon Film Festival – Rules & Terms
Eligibility

RainbowCon Film Festival welcomes submissions from filmmakers around the world. We celebrate LGBTQ+ stories, creators, and authentic representation in film, television, and digital media.

Projects may be created by filmmakers of any background but should feature LGBTQ+ themes, characters, stories, or perspectives.

Submission Requirements
Films must be submitted through FilmFreeway.
Projects should be completed within the last five (5) years.
Works in any language are welcome.
English-language films are accepted.
Non-English films must include English subtitles.
Multiple entries are permitted with separate submission fees.
Premiere Status

Premiere status is not required.

Previously screened films and online releases are eligible.

Selection Process

All submissions will be reviewed by RainbowCon's programming team.

Official selections will be notified via FilmFreeway.

Judges' decisions are final.

Screening Format

The festival is currently presented as an online event.

Selected projects may be screened during the official festival dates through RainbowCon's approved online platform.

Rights

The filmmaker retains all ownership and copyright of their work.

By submitting, entrants grant RainbowCon Film Festival permission to:

Screen the submitted project during the festival.
Use trailers, posters, still images, and short clips (up to 30 seconds) for promotional purposes.
List selected projects on RainbowCon's website and social media.
Awards

Official selections are eligible for festival awards.

Winners will receive:

Digital Winner Certificates
Promotion across RainbowCon platforms
Submission Fees

Submission fees are non-refundable.

Liability

Entrants confirm they possess all necessary rights and permissions for their submitted work, including music, images, and performances.

RainbowCon Film Festival is not responsible for any copyright infringement committed by entrants.

By submitting a project, entrants acknowledge that they have read and agree to these Rules & Terms.
