SUBMISSION CATEGORIES - CREATE/M FILM FESTIVAL:
Selected projects from all categories will be presented to the public at the 1st Annual create/M Film Festival currently scheduled to take place on December 2026 (“CMFF26”). Since submission of a project constitutes acceptance of these Entry Rules & Regulations (by you and your agents), please review this document carefully. Submitted projects must not:
• have screened or exhibited publicly in the New York region in any way which would preclude or forclose participation in the create/M Mental Health Film Festival
• have had ANY public screening, broadcast, distribution, or exhibition before January 1, 2026.
FEATURES AND SHORT FILMS
create/M Film Festival showcases short and feature films from emerging talent and established filmmakers with distinct voices and bold new ideas. Films invited to participate in the 2026 Film Festival will be shown in the section determined most appropriate by Festival programmers, in their sole discretion.
Eligible projects include:
Short films (runtime < 40 minutes) including documentaries, narratives, animation, experimental films, and music videos.
Any AI generated content must be fully disclosed.
Submission Terms — Promotional Rights Grant (create/M Film Festival)By submitting a film to the create/M Film Festival ("the Festival") and upon acceptance of that film into the Festival, the submitter ("Submitter") grants Mental Health Media Group, LLC and Create M Ltd. (together, "the Licensees") a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use clips, excerpts, stills, artwork, synopses, and credit information from the film for promotional and editorial purposes related to the Festival and its mission.
Permitted uses include:a) Festival promotion and marketing — including announcements, lineup reveals, trailers, sizzle reels, recap content, social media, press kits, and editorial coverage, for the current and subsequent edition of the Festival) Promotion of create/M and Mental Health Media Group's mission, programs, and platforms — including websites, newsletters, fundraising and grant materials, sponsor and partnership presentations, and related editorial content;c) Inclusion in materials shared with current and prospective sponsors, partners, press, and funders for the purposes described above.
Clip length. Promotional clip use shall not exceed three (3) minutes or ten percent (10%) of the total film runtime, whichever is shorter, except where the Submitter expressly grants further use in writing.Term. The license granted herein shall remain in effect from the date of acceptance through twenty-four (24) months following the close of the Festival edition into which the film was accepted.
Credit. The Licensees shall provide credit to the Submitter and the film in any promotional use, where reasonably possible given the format and platform.Exclusions. This grant does not include the right to publicly stream, exhibit, or distribute the full film outside of the Festival itself. Any such use will be negotiated separately with the Submitter on a film-by-film basis.Submitter warranties.
By submitting, the Submitter represents and warrants that: (i) the Submitter holds, or has secured, all rights necessary to grant this license, including rights to all underlying material, performances, footage, and contributions in the film; (ii) music in the film is either cleared for promotional and online use, or has been flagged to the Festival in writing at the time of submission, in which case the Licensees will use only audio-cleared portions or muted excerpts in promotional contexts; (iii) all individuals appearing in the film, including any individuals depicted in the context of mental health experiences, have provided appropriate consent for the film's exhibition and for promotional use of clips containing their likeness; (iv) the film does not infringe upon any third-party rights and contains no defamatory, unlawful, or otherwise actionable content.Indemnification. The Submitter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Licensees from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from a breach of the foregoing warranties.Right to decline.
The Licensees reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to decline to use any submitted material at any time, and to remove previously used material upon reasonable notice from the Submitter.
Governing law. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York without giving effect to the rules of conflicts of law. Any action or dispute between the Parties shall, at the option of either Party, be determined by binding arbitration administered by American Arbitration Association, under its Commercial Arbitration Rules available at https://www.adr.org/, or such other arbitration service mutually selected by the parties and either party is hereby authorized to appear virtually via telephonically or by video conference, as available. The parties submit to the jurisdiction of New York and agree that any litigation or arbitration between the parties must be commenced and maintained exclusively in the State of New York and in New York County. The prevailing party in any litigation or arbitration involving this Agreement shall be entitled to all expenses incurred, including but not limited to, reasonable attorneys’ fees and court costs.
By submitting, the Submitter acknowledges having read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
