PHREAQ0UT is.. environmental existentialism in a nutshell.
My name is M. Scott Ault, also known as the Ocean Cyclist because I am going to be the first person to circumnavigate the globe in a pedal powered boat to promote sustainability.. and I want to screen YOUR work during a cool event on Sept. 18th and 19th!
At the core of the event is an art show & sale affectionately titled "The Extravaganza" and I am currently negotiating with property managers for up to three potential locations~ one is at Queen St. W & Dundas, Toronto! I am also examining options for a Vancouver and Cincinnati location.
For the film festival, I am networking with physical venues for In Person Screening! Not just the art show venues but different physical spaces starting with a local venue here in Terrace, BC (along with potential venues in Kitimat, Prince Rupert, and Smithers for cool Northern BC coverage). But, as I am a seasoned market vendor and guerilla marketer, I am working outside the box to reach venues all over the place to take part and show YOUR productions to their customers on the evening of the 18th and 19th! By the time the event takes place, I am hoping to have dozens of venues screening your works!
But.. I am also going to be increasing audience attendance through publishing a Free To Pick Up print magazine that will be distributed across Canada and possibly in to the US as well! The magazine *does* have a layout deadline so, registration EARLY gets your info in to the print version! Info on you and your production could reach as many as 100,000 people before the event even takes place!
The process...
All submissions will be pre- screened by myself and a collection of representatives of the disparate, local, and physical venues.
The selected films will be screened in the Main Stage during the specified evenings
All event patrons will be able to VOTE on the different productions
The films with the highest voting will be announced on the evening of the 19th
Reiteration:
Regular Submissions will be listed within the magazine
Late Submissions will be listed in a digital primer/ downloadable
Content/ Style
OPEN! While my overarching goal is to promote sustainability I am aware that entertainment makes life more enjoyable so.. the only limitation is CONTENT in so far as it must be PG-13 or.. under. Nothing that would be described as "prurient" is permitted. Submissions that fall in to that category will be disqualified without refund or appeal.
I am currently negotiating with interested parties for prize donations. I anticipate an edit in the near future on this entry.
