RULES AND TERMS:
1. USA Screenplay Awards accepts scripts in PDF format only (under 5 mb in size).
2. All scripts must be written in English.
3. Submissions are received through FilmFreeway only and must contain the corresponding submission fee.
4. Submitted script(s) must be an original work of the person submitting (Submitter). If based upon another person’s life or upon a book or other underlying work, Submitter must secure all rights to make such adaptations. By entering the USA Screenplay awards, Submitter is acknowledging that all necessary rights have been secured.
5. Scripts must not have been optioned or sold prior to November 30, 2018. Submitter must notify USA Screenplay Awards of any changes in status following submission.
6. Submitter may submit more than one Script in any chosen category. Each entry requires an application, payment, and script.
7. USA Screen Play Awards reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject or disqualify any ineligible entries, without a refund.
8. Once an entry payment has been received, USA Screenplay Awards cannot provide a refund. If a payment is disputed by an entrant for any reason, the entrant may be subject to any transaction fees or similar amounts incurred by USA Screenplay Awards in connection with the dispute.
9. Submitter agrees that no revisions to submitted screenplay will be allowed after submission.
10. Judges will grant awards based on the overall merit of entries and reserve the right not to grant an award.
11. SUBMITTER AGREES TO INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS, AND DEFEND USA SCREENPLAY AWARDS, ITS EMPLOYEES, DIRECTORS, REPRESENTATIVES, AND AFFILIATES FROM ANY LIABILITY, CLAIMS, AND DAMAGES IN CONNECTION WITH THE SUBMISSION AND FROM ANY FEES AND EXPENSES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO REASONABLE ATTORNEYS’ FEES, THAT ANY OF THEM MAY INCUR IN CONNECTION THEREWITH.
FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS:
Screenplays/teleplays should adhere to current industry formatting standards.
Please use Courier type, fonts sized 12 point.
Feature Screenplays should be within 70 to 120 pages in length.
Short Screenplays should be 1 to 40 pages in length.
Please number pages in the submission.
Please include only the TITLE of the screenplay on the cover page, and do not add any other identifying information to keep the writer anonymous from the judges.
USA Screenplay Awards is under no obligation to disclose the identities of readers or judges; any feedback or notes created by judges or readers; information about the reading and selection process of Submissions.
Winners will be announced on November 30, 2018. The judges’ decisions are final.
COMPETITION IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
