In year 5 in Asbury Park, NJ it is us the "Hang on to Your Shorts" Film Festival. We are going to be back for a fifth season and this year 2018 we hope to be much bigger and better. The first season turned out to be a huge success with so many great films entered and shown in Asbury Park, NJ.
There have been festivals in the area in the past that have closed down or moved away. There are many other film festivals in the state of New Jersey but they are not close to the shore area in Central New Jersey. There have been past festivals that focuses mostly on feature films but what about that filmmaker who hasn't been able to make one yet. The artist who created a short film but is unable to show it or showcase their work. This is where we come in to the picture. We encourage the filmmakers who have short films of any length from 1 minute all the way up to 45 minute shorts to enter our festival.

(We have low entry fees so it could be affordable. We need to raise money for the festival so as a festival we can not waive any entry fees, so please do not ask, thank you.)

Hang Onto Your Shorts is a GREAT FILM FESTIVAL!!! If you have a short film this festival is the place to showcase it. The festival screens your film in awesome venues and has fantastic ceremonies for networking. It's a two day festival, one day is dedicated to student films and the other day is for pro films. It is a festival that thrives with selections of divers films. If you want exposure, Hang Onto Your Shorts is the festival for you and your film.

This fest is big enough to host some epic networking events and awards ceremonies but small enough to treat each filmmaker like family. The director of the fest checked up on our group minutes after our screening to see how it went. CJ and his team care about the films and filmmakers.

None of our team could make it, I was actually at another festival in SC. But they always kept us up to date and, it turns out we won BEST Horror SHORT! So excited, as we also won Best actress in in a short at the festival I was at in SC! So, a very exciting weekend! I wish I could have cloned myself for both events! Thank you to Larry Rosen for accepting on our behalf and for always keeping us in the loop, even though we couldn't be there!

A hometown festival where you always feel welcome, it's small enough you can actually meet, and speak to, people i.e. network. But big enough it shows in great theaters and you attract the public as well as filmmakers. This one is always on my "go to" fests for every film I have.
