The WideFocus Film Festival is an online contest sponsored by WideFocus.org. We are a Web-based platform empowering the next generation of filmmakers and vloggers to create messages that make healthy behavior choices cool and popular.

Every two months we hold a contest where we review independent films and select four winners that each get an official introduction to our distribution partners. Our past distribution partners have included Sony, Samuel Goldwyn, Wal-mart, Regal Cinemas, Netflix, and the History Channel, to name a few.

Annually, in January of each year, we will be holding a film festival highlighting the year’s best contributions allowing films to get exposure to film buyers around the world. Winners are showcased from four format categories—Best Feature-Length Narrative, Best Feature-Length Documentary, Best Short Narrative and Best Short Documentary.

Submissions are reviewed and accepted or rejected by the WideFocus programming staff. Films accepted by the programming staff must meet the goals of the mission of WideFocus.org which is to lift at-risk youth by helping them live healthier lives, showing them how to love life, and assisting them to look, listen and learn to lead and make a difference.

The festival will be attended by families and youth of all ages. While a rating from the MPAA is not required for submission, the WideFocus Film Festival requires that submissions be edited in such a way that they can be viewed by audiences comprised of youth under the age of 17. Filmmakers are required to enter a password (Not Explicit Version) prior to submitting their films indicating that they have edited their films to meet this requirement.
