The Fling! Film festival is an event that showcases the work of young film makers from across the world and the best in cinema. The festival is held in the idyllic scenery of Tain in the Scottish Highlands. Hundreds of people participated in the workshops and came to watch the shorts and feature films. We considered 2020 a resounding success but due to organisational issues and much needed change to the calendar we made an indefinte pause on the festival. We are now fully back for our 6th edition in 2025.

Fling! celebrates the best in youth film whether fiction, documentary, experimental or adventure. In 2025 we are keen to highlight films that express unique visions and the experiences of young people in the modern world. If you make films, want to make films then please submit for 2025.

For this year's edition, we will specially be launching our new category for short pictures made by young people under the age of 25. they will be selected as part of a competition which will see Fling’s organisers award a $2500 grant for the awardees. As part of the programme we also run film-making workshops facilitated by some of the brightest minds of cinema from the UK film industry.

The winners of the various categories will receive a trophy, filmmaking production grant and cash prizes
