BRAGA INTERNATIONAL VIDEODANCE FESTIVAL’26 -10th Edition
Spring/Summer - Special mid-season

In this 10th edition of Braga International Videodance Festival, we propose a pause from the usual format to make way for a condensed experience: a mid-season dedicated exclusively to works with a maximum duration of 60 seconds.

In a time marked by constant acceleration and the rapid consumption of images, where gestures follow one another at the speed of a scroll and attention becomes fragmented, we challenge creators and audiences to inhabit that same time differently. What if 60 seconds were not merely brevity, but intensity? What if, instead of reinforcing the logic of speed, this limit became an invitation to precision, synthesis, and presence?
This format calls for new languages and different urgencies. It demands the selection of what is essential, the choreography of the instant, and the use of editing as a creative gesture. Every second gains weight; every movement becomes decisive. Between ephemerality and memory, these works explore the threshold between the immediate and the lasting.

More than adapting to the logic of reels or TikTok, this proposal seeks to question them: can 60 seconds become a space for deceleration? A place for listening, for full attention, for resonance?
In this special edition, we invite you to discover works that, despite their short duration, expand time and open new possibilities for videodance.
_______

Created in 2016, Braga International Video Dance Festival celebrates its 10th edition as a unique stage for the fusion of dance and cinema.
More than a festival, it is a space where the art of the body meets the audiovisual language, giving rise to creations that explore new ways of seeing and feeling.
Throughout the festival, artists and audiences come together in an environment of learning, sharing and discovery, where dance transforms into image, movement takes on new dimensions and technology expands creative possibilities.
The BIVDF has become a territory of artistic innovation, fostering dialogue between disciplines and constantly challenging the boundaries of contemporary expression.
10 years later, the invitation remains: experience dance through the screen and discover the power of the moving body in the world of image.

Prize money and exhibition to be announced.
