Erfan Shams was born in Tehran in Iran in 1985. He would always describe himself as a creator with a high sense of imagination. Associating his creativity with his artistic vision, he produced his first short movie named “The moment I awakened which received great attention from the Medias. The movie was chosen by “National Cinema School of Iran” as one of the best movies in a competition, aiming to offer a 2-year scholarship program for fresh talents. Being among the 20 students receiving this scholarship, Erfan met some highly renowned Iranian film-makers and enjoyed very professional training from them.
After graduating from school, he continued to further his knowledge by enrolling directing courses of Asghar Farhadi and Shahram Mokri. As a director, Erfan tends to follow his intuition rather than adhering only to the rules and structures. “The pleasure of creating is beyond everything else; that is why God created us”, He believes
In his latest work, he is cooperating with 3 other writers to create the storyline of a movie that is going to be produced by a famous producer named Ali Sartipi. This movie will be the first super-hero movie that is ever made in the history of Iranian Cinema.
