Between Traces and Forms
Between Traces and Forms is a poetic journey into the world of children who see through touch. In a workshop where clay becomes language, their hands sculpt what their eyes cannot. Guided by voices of love and resilience, they reveal that vision is not confined to sight — it’s born from imagination, emotion, and the will to create. Through intimate testimonies and evocative imagery, the film captures the beauty of perceiving the world differently, where every shape is a story, and every form leaves a trace.

Oliver Granillo Vargas is a Mexican filmmaker, producer, and educator whose work bridges art, technology, and human emotion. With over 18 years of experience in the audiovisual world, he blends a background in Mechatronics Engineering from UACJ with a Diploma in Film Production from Vancouver Film School — a combination that defines his unique visual and conceptual style.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated on productions for Universal Pictures, Hallmark Channel, and Investigation Discovery, and has been part of television projects such as El Mundo Paranormal de Vane and ACCESO for XEJTV. In the independent scene, he has served as producer and first assistant director on award-winning films including Una isla de ella, Con vista al río, and Arihua.
His 2024 short film A Silent Scream —written and directed by Granillo— has resonated internationally, earning the Stigma Breaker Award at Mental Filmness (Chicago) and the Latino Social, Political, Cultural Impact Award at the Latino and Native American Film Festival (Connecticut). The film was also a finalist at the SmallRig Awards 2025, an official selection at Angaelica Festival (California), and part of the HECare Film Festival (Toronto), standing out for its raw emotional depth and social vision.
Since 2018, Oliver has combined filmmaking with education, guiding new generations in digital production, storytelling, and video game writing. His work reflects a deep belief in cinema as a force for empathy, transformation, and social change — where every frame becomes a dialogue between art and humanity.
This film is not about blindness. It’s about perception — about how creation itself becomes a form of vision, and how art allows us to feel the world more deeply.
