Director, screenwriter and editor. He was born in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. Graduated from the “Escuela Veracruzana de Cine Luis Buñuel”. He studied an editing post grade at the International Film and TV School from San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba (EICTV). He was Mezcal Jury at the 31st Guadalajara International Film Festival (2016) along with other film students from Mexico and Latin America. His short films, The Night is Young (2014), Binary (2015) and The Pool (2016), have been selected at both national and international festivals. In 2017, he filmed his thesis (a sci-fi short film) Doppelgänger, Inc. (official selection in Feratum Film Fest and in many other international festivals, he was part of the digital video library of FICG 33).
Doppelgänger, Inc. is a sci fi short film, and its main theme is the loss of individuality. My motivación is create a strong story about how social power is capable of changing a person who does not function inside a group.
My idea is to present society as a mechanism, and that human beings are gears, and when a piece does not perform its work as it should, then simply looking for another to keep the machine running.
This short film is a criticism of the time that we are living. Over time, little by little people are losing the sense of individuality and we find a world that is forgetting the true meaning of life. Man begins to become mechanical, materialistic and routine beings.
In our society, human beings are losing their sense of things, letting themselves fall into the routine. Many times this loss of autonomy is generated by social groups that demand a prototype of a person to be able to achieve acceptance and become machines that must be subjected to society's demands.
