Maaike Elise Stofferis is a young female creative film director. Her films are based on the movement and beauty of the female form in the space. She has a great passion for collaborative international projects in cinematography, art, fashion, and music.
She studied theatre and costume design at Central Saint Martins (London) and is the driving force behind her own Haute Couture brand Maison M'Elise.
"When I start thinking of new designs for my bridal gowns or evening wear. I always see a film in front of me, I see the female body in movement, and I observe how the light falls and how the woman breaths in her gown, this is my source of inspiration and the start of the creation process for me.
The films are always a final synopsis of my work I really believe in the collaborative space where I leave room for the unexpected.
Conceptualist and Creative Director Maaike Elise Stofferis unveils the essence behind her work in the 'Blue Appels Documentary,' speaking to a narrative of integrity, reverence, and respect for a rich heritage. Drawing inspiration from the best of the past and embracing an aesthetic of classic beauty, her creations also evoke a certain beauty from within, highlighting the delicate dance of lace within Maison M'Elise's sustainable haute couture.
With a profound homage to the highest aspirations in life and the complex duality of human existence—embracing both weakness and strength—Stofferis strives for perfection while acknowledging the scars that define our journey between success and failure. In her films, including the 'Blue Appels Documentary,'
she orchestrates triumphant international collaborative performances, seamlessly weaving elements from her theater background. The takeaway is a profound belief that humanity possesses the resilience to overcome any obstacle, celebrating integrity within the enchanting beauty of 'Blue Appels.' Stofferis's work serves as a poignant reminder of our inherent power to love, move, and elevate, offering a breath of fresh air and soul-nourishing elevation, particularly poignant in these challenging and testing times.
