Director Statement

The film’s ground idea is inspired by a true event that took place in Buenos Aires, where a woman fell down a deep hole in her backyard. Here was born the first conflict, which I connected with two events that marked my childhood: Santa Fe’s flooding from April of 2003, and the absence of a family member. Consequently, I’ve decided to film in my home town, and in the areas that have a particular relationship with water; having as a guide the films of the santafesino filmmaker Fernando Birri.
The proposal is to show the reality of this family and its habitat with a documentary genre aesthetic approach, using an abundance of dead times, and a sound design that works the humidity, rain, and the sensation of being drowned.
