Craig and Steve have been best friends since 10th grade. They were in a band called Steve Bouffard and the Mother Fucking Crossbones, and they were locally popular. They attended Savannah College of Art and Design for film and sound design. They are still best friends and text each other when they watch Lord of the Rings.
We made this movie because we started getting old quickly and hadn't made a movie in a long long time. We joked about this idea in college and from Craig's first draft of the script until the final shot was shot it had only been six months. We shot this movie right outside the Chisos Mountains at Big Bend National Park in four days with four people. The three actors, and Nate, the sound guy. This means that if all three characters are on screen, no one is behind the camera. We had no water or electricity. We used a car battery to charge equipment and made nightly trips to the closest water spout to fill 20 bottles while tourists waited.
