I have always been attracted to Poetic Cinema, especially films by Andrei Tarkovsky. In Sculpting in Time, he wrote: ‘The solution lies in balancing these two lines of development: the inner spiritual and the outer material. This is the message in ’Stalk’ and ‘Solaris’ …and perhaps in all my films: this attempt to balance out spiritual and material needs.’ — Which is the core of Cocoon.
It’s a story about revenge, sacrifice and redemption, with a surreal twist. It’s about ordinary people with broken hearts try to reconcile with their loved ones. People who embrace the darkness path of inevitable death and seek for illumination and spiritual transformation after it.
A genuine story touches people and triggers their most private memories and emotions. Through Cocoon, I hope audience can embrace their life struggles and find inner peace in their own quest for existential contemplation. Cocoon hopes to provide and share a private, spiritual journey with anyone who longs for an intimate, immersive and cinematic experience.
