Black In The Future
Reporter/Host of BITF (Black In The Future) News, Jackie e'Lan, sends her Robo-Clone, outfitted with "drone crew", into the field to gather footage to complete her feature segment about "Reparations for African Americans". While policing the community, the drone stumbles across what appears to be domestic violence.
She captures Kimberly Johnson a disgruntled white woman verbally abusing and throwing her Black Robo-Man Model No. 10Four out of the house and on to the front lawn. Suddenly, her Drone "Crew" breaks down, leaving the Robo-Clone to "livecast" on the spot, with the assist of a "lookie loo's" high tech goggles. The Reparations Feature unfolds to reveal how Reparations came about, who benefited, and why these Robo-Clones have become a menace to society.

Cherrelle éLan began her career behind the camera. Pitching compelling story ideas, and assisting dynamic producers for PrimeTime and 20/20 News Magazines inspired Cherrelle to continue her career in biographical storytelling. Peaking her level of interest in creative drama, she had the opportunity to participate in suspenseful undercover consumer investigations. Also, while working with ABC's news team during the 9/11 Tragedy, Cherrelle received a Peabody Award for her participation in conducting interviews of victims and heroes. It wasn't long after these experiences that Cherrelle discovered she has a gift to bring dramatic situations to life via Acting. Today she commits to the Acting craft. Passionate about giving back to her community, after completing her 10 year educational career in Literary and Film, Cherrelle returned to her High School alma-mater The Duke Ellington School of the Arts and initiated the first High School Media Day. Hosted by The National Association of Multi-Ethnicity In Communications (NAMIC) high school students from across the Washington, DC metropolitan area joined together with Cherrelle's network of Broadcast Professionals from various media empires and her alma-mater's Howard University and Syracuse University, to create a blueprint for their future. The following year, the Media Day expanded and moved to the museum of broadcast history-The Newseum. This day earned Cherrelle a NAMIC award for outstanding community service. An advocate for maintaining positive images, Cherrelle also competed and won the Miss Teen DC USA title where she made her first national television appearance during the Miss Teen USA Pageant on CBS. In addition she is a member of the first African American Sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha and holds a black belt from Howard University's Tae Kwon Do Club.
I grew up studying Journalism, writing stories about what was actually happening in the world. My goal, however, has always been to write fiction. With my News gathering training my mind takes in everything like a sponge, subconsciously picking up on all kinds of information and stories. So with my creative production background and "nose for news", I just meshed that all together and everything just started to flow.
One day, I got passionate about writing this Sci-Fi, Dramedy Series about the future and where are we as a society on a whole but specifically Black people in the future.
At the same time I am an Actress and I love getting my story across to people via acting. The response that I have gotten has been very appreciative of being able to deliver a character in way where people feel it and they appreciate it. I love that response and I wanted to do it more. So I thought it would also be a good idea to actually produce "Black In The Future" while performing in a play with other Actors. We all wanted to continue to work after the play finished its run.
"Black In The Future" became a passion of mine to develop and Direct so that myself and fellow Actors could continue to exercise our chops! After getting the story and characters flushed out, I reached out to SAG Actors who were interested in bringing Black In The Future to life!
It's out of passion for the story, and the desire and hunger to want to work our chops, that we were able to start on the journey of Black In The Future Streaming Series! To be continued...!
