Director Biography - Blake Pruitt

Blake Pruitt's first short documentary at age 14, Canines, was shown in film festivals around the world and won various awards in student categories. Currently studying Film & Television at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, his collaborative short film, Farmhouse, won the 2012 Tisch 48 Hour Film Festival.

His short documentary, 20MALEGAYNYC, has been featured on Andrew Sullivan's The Daily Dish, The Advocate, and The Huffington Post. Blake's subsequent web series about young gay life, Male Gays, aired on and he recently release a UK spinoff: 20MALEGAY.

His experimental short camchat has screened at film festivals in the US, Canada, and Europe.

Blake's new narrative short, Read Aloud, is currently in post-production.

Director Statement

Camchat is an experimental look at online sexual encounters and relationships through one young man's interactions. In the short, Alec encounters various men in online chat rooms, his experiences ranging from purely sexual to purely emotional and the confusing space in between.
