Czech cellist, artistic director and independent film-maker František Brikcius created his first music documentary film MAKANNA (in the cooperation with the Jewish Museum in Prague and under the auspices of Sir Tom Stoppard and Václav Havel) in 2015. It's based on the novel of the Jewish writer Jiří Weil, about the rise and fall of the 7th century false prophet with his face covered with the green veil and his eyes glowing as embers. The film premier took place at the Vaclav Havel Library in Prague to commemorate the 115th anniversary of birth of the Jewish writer Jiří Weil. Under the auspices of the Mayor of Prague 1, the premiere was part of the Daniel Pearl World Music Days, the 17th Poetry Day Festival and the 4th Festival Brikcius.
