Adrift
"Adrift" is an immersive audiovisual artwork by multimedia artist Chris May that explores the convergence of classical sculptural aesthetics, organic forms, and generative AI techniques.
May utilizes Pytti, a text-to-image transformer, to create this fluid visual narrative. Unlike platforms reliant on single prompts, Pytti operates entirely through code. Every aspect of "Adrift," from the subtle shift of an element to the carefully orchestrated camera movement, is meticulously defined within the Python code.
The work presents a dreamlike and hypnotic journey through a world where organic forms, such as waterfalls and mountains, intertwine with biomorphic sculptures and architectural echoes. These elements evoke both ancient civilizations and futuristic structures, prompting viewers to reconsider the relationship between historical artistic traditions and current technological innovations.
Through this exploration of form, technology, and the subconscious, 'Adrift' invites viewers on a journey of introspection, prompting reflections on the interconnectedness of the physical and metaphysical worlds.
