Writer Statement

I created Ziggy because I wanted to bring together the two things that shaped my childhood most: the magic of animation and the comfort of food shared with people you care about. Cooking is naturally chaotic, funny, creative, and full of heart - which makes it the perfect vehicle for storytelling that kids can laugh at, learn from, and grow with.
Ziggy represents the fearless creativity I hope all kids hold onto. He fails. He tries again. He makes messes. He learns. And he does it all with enthusiasm and friends who support him along the way. Every character, from a grumpy bear to a glowing fairy chef, is designed to highlight different emotional journeys -confidence, patience, curiosity, collaboration, gratitude, and self-expression.
My goal with this series is simple - to create a world where imagination leads the way, where mistakes are celebrated as part of learning, and where community is built one shared meal at a time.
Ziggy isn’t just a show about cooking - it’s a show about kindness, creativity, and making something meaningful together. And I hope it inspires young viewers to explore, invent, and see the magic in their own everyday adventures.
