An alien invasion that goes remarkably well. In this story, the humans don't really have a chance of fighting back.
The music video is an homage-montage referencing many classic sci-works in an anime style. It flips the script on alien invasion, showing how aliens might contribute positively to human evolution, though perhaps somewhat against our will. This adds a dystopian dimension, since the video depicts the alien invaders as an unstoppable force roving the galaxy in search of planets to terraform and lifeforms to modify.
The dancing women are both a trope of music videos in general but also link the video’s narrative to popular human-alien hybrid plots in popular culture such as in the X-Files. There are Star Trek themes of Borg assimilation and a nod to Sun Ra's Afrofuturist film 'Space is the Place' in the psychedelic spaceships (amongst many other nods embedded in the content).
I did want the aliens to be very alien, i.e. not too humanoid– I didn't want them to be too relatable, like all speaking English with the help of brain implant language translators etc. : ) And the surgical experimentation on humans, while not graphic and gory, is suitably intense or at least visually interesting.
