ZAR
Rachel, a woman from southern Iran living far from her homeland, sits alone late at night scrolling through childhood photos. Overwhelmed by grief and depression, she closes her eyes — and is pulled into the world her depression creates. A woman in a black burqa pursues her through the darkness until the two confront each other face to face. When the burqa woman removes her veil, Rachel sees herself. The stranger is the version of her that never left — her roots, her grief, her homeland. She fights back, takes her Prozac, and opens her eyes. Only a blink has passed.
