### Director's Statement for *Yukon en van*
*Yukon en van* is a narrative documentary that invites the audience to explore a lesser-known province of Canada, rich in nature and culture. Through this journey, I aimed to discover not only the breathtaking landscapes of Yukon but also the stories and people who inhabit it.
This film was born from my desire to highlight the beauty and diversity of this often-overlooked region. While traversing its roads, I had the privilege of meeting an inspiring Indigenous artist who shares his culture through his art. His creations are not merely objects; they are living narratives that convey the history and identity of his people.
I also had the honor of being welcomed by a passionate glassblower, who treated us like family. Her generosity and warm hospitality exemplify the culture of kindness that thrives in Yukon. These encounters deeply moved me and helped me understand that the richness of this region lies not only in its wild nature but also in its inhabitants.
We also had the opportunity to explore the natural beauty through stunning hikes, immersing ourselves in breathtaking landscapes that tell the story of Yukon. Additionally, the legacy of the gold rush was a guiding thread in our exploration, allowing us to grasp the events that shaped this land and its people.
*Yukon en van* is a celebration of the generosity of its people and the natural splendor that characterizes Yukon. My hope is that this documentary encourages others to explore and appreciate this unique province, both for its beauty and for the stories it holds. By sharing these experiences, I aim to contribute to raising awareness and appreciation for a culture that truly deserves to be highlighted.
