Director Biography - Yas Souza

Yas Souza is a filmmaker in training at Unisinos University in Porto Alegre, where she began her journey in audiovisual production in 2024.
Originally from Pará and now living in Rio Grande do Sul, she brings a background that combines Clinical Psychology and experience in theater, as well as creating video art since the pandemic, influences that shape her sensitive and creative approach to filmmaking.
Her work is rooted in a deep interest in people, human connections, and the many ways we express ourselves, guiding the way she tells stories.
She has developed a particular style of storytelling: intuitive, sensitive, and attentive to detail. Yas moves between directing, editing, and cinematography, always seeking authentic narratives that honor the truth of each character and situation.
