You Will Find Love is a love story but more so it's a story of regret and a story of fear of one's true feelings. Much of the film is based on my own life, and this is my most personal film yet. I've long held in my true feelings out of fear of reactions from others and the world as a whole. I've now broken free of those fears, but unfortunately they still haunt many others. I wrote Simon and Gabriel to represent two different stages of my life. Simon lives with regret, feeling his life is going nowhere is burdened by nostalgia for the past. This was me two years ago. Gabriel is me now. Someone who has found that whatever happened in the past has shaped me as the man I am today, someone who is very happy and content with life. This film is my way of fully understanding those feelings and moving on with my life in a fulfilled manner. I know that this story is one many other queer people such as myself have felt through their coming of age, and that is why I am excited to share this film with the world.
