You Know What You Are

A contemporary reimagining of a classic archetype, You Know What You Are presents a new perspective on the vampire. Set against the backdrop of a tranquil beach town during the early winter, Faith is a young vampire grappling with her insatiable thirst for blood and the relentless struggle to control her violent urges. Seeking solitude, she finds herself unexpectedly making personal relationships with a group of loners, challenging her sense of control, and forcing her to come to terms with who she really is.

Director Statement

In "You Know What You Are," I wanted to explore Obsessive Compulsive Disorder through the lens of the vampire mythos, using it as a metaphor for the internal struggles with obsessive thoughts and compulsions. This film is a deeply personal exploration inspired by my own experiences with OCD and the struggles that come with it.

Just as vampires grapple with their nightmarish nature, my character, Faith, confronts the compulsions and anxieties that defines her life. Through her journey, I am hope to convey the universal truth that embracing all aspects of ourselves, even the perceived "darkness," is essential for inner peace.

"You Know What You Are" is not just a vampire story; it's a reflection of our shared humanity and the journey toward embracing our true selves, flaws and all.
