Michael D. Schwartz is an editor, writer, and director originating from Arlington, Virginia. He is now based in Los Angeles, California. Starting with a career in editing, he applies an editor-first mindset of precision and planning in his writing and directing style to tell character-driven stories about identity, self-esteem, and differing perspectives.
Two big things motivated me to make this film. One was the general lack of asexuality in media that prevented me from even knowing about the term for most of my life. The other was to summon the courage to overcome the anxiety I had about my asexuality being publicly known. Just the process of making the film forced me to confront that anxiety head-on. Luckily, I had an amazing cast and crew that helped make this film possible. I'm now in a much more secure place because of it. I'm proud to continue that journey by sharing this film with the world.
