Director Statement

Elon Musk has become one of the most polarizing personalities of our time. I wanted to tell a story about Tesla but through the lens of a fictionalized adult son of Elon who steps out of his dad’s long shadow.
I am fascinated by the thoughts that guide our decisions and shape our destiny.
It’s also a movie about the necessity to find yourself before committing to a life partner. And - more subtly - it’s a declaration of love to California: The film was shot on the scenic coast, in the glistening city and in the barren desert… the three most striking California landscapes.
Most humbly it’s a film that may remind us of the little boy inside us who learned to love cars around the same time we learned to say “dad”.
