Alex Darling was born in Toronto, Ontario on July 4th, 2002, and is an up-and-coming Canadian writer, director, editor, and film composer. On his YouTube channel EYEWASH, his short films span many genres, including drama, horror, thriller, coming of age, and romance. Alex's work has been shown at the Sundance Film Festival and has amassed hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube. His films often deal with experimental, visceral, and surreal subject matter. He has a natural passion for story-telling and wishes to use the medium to further the specificity of emotional and thematic communication.
Alex Darling: Told entirely through low-res camcorder footage, Wyatt's Video is a haunting found-footage piece that juxtaposes the innocence and clear-cut morality of the 1980s with a very real and impenetrable evil of the future.
Born in 1973, Wyatt Stevens was your average Canadian teenager, with a passion for photography, music, and the Spacetrain comic books. On August 19th, 1989, he was gifted a camcorder by his well-off parents and left alone at home for the night. Like a kid in a candy store, he relinquished his new toy and freedom, which explains the plethora of footage left behind. However, he found himself way out of his depth when unexplainable noises and phenomena began to surround his isolated country home. What happened next is anybody's guess; authorities are still trying to piece it all together.
