Gabriella Walls (Sipe) is a director and writer, currently living in Los Angeles, CA.
Gabriella’s award-winning directorial debut, Writer's Block Party, has continued to receive praise and selections in several festivals. She has enjoyed sharing it with other filmmakers and watchers since its completion in 2018.
Gabriella is dedicated to telling stories about women in all different situations and circumstances. Writer’s Block Party is a reflection of her own creative struggles and her experiences with feelings of inadequacy, as well as her imagination and her love for bringing characters to life in the most literal sense.
Gabriella has recently created a crime drama/comedy TV pilot, Sparrow, and has recently worked as Post Production Coordinator on the award-winning indie feature film, Angie: Lost Girls (2020, dir. Julia Verdin), and as the Editor and 2nd Assistant Director on the social justice inspired short film, Brown (2019, dir. Julia Verdin).
The plot of 'Writer's Block Party' came to me during a time where I myself was struggling with writer's block, or more specifically, idea block. After a whole day of writing and tossing out ideas I felt like I could never think of something that I wanted to make. I went to bed and right before I fell asleep, the title popped into my head. From that, the story flowed.
This film was a true labor of love not only by me, but by everyone working on the project. As a first time writer and director, my crew was the foundation of this project and truly made it magical. I was blessed to have them on my team.
I hope you enjoy 'Writer's Block Party'!
