Rosemary, a young fairy, leads a boring life at the fairytale castle. She’d rather be a witch so she can scream, fly on brooms and get really messy. Unfortunately her mother strongly disagrees, so Rosemary decides to run off to the mysterious witch forest.

Director Biography - Cedric Igodt, David Van de Weyer

Cedric Igodt is a graduate from the Belgian Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema and Sound. In 2006 he joined the animation studio nWave Pictures. In 2011 he set up his own studio where he became a director of animated short films for theme parks, such as Meet the Dinos and Little Dolphin.

Director Statement

This film is about love between mother and daughter. They initially disagree, but manage to overcome their differences because they learn to understand and accept each other's expectations.

This film is also a plea for diversity and inclusion. It presents two opposing communities: witches vs fairies. At first they distrust each other. But in the end, this gap is bridged by our young protagonist. As a "witch-fairy" she manages to unite two worlds.

This film appeals to both children and parents. It sends an empowering message to children: choose your own path in life and become a unique individual in a diverse and inclusive world.

But it also has a message for parents: be open to your children's imagination and expectations. Whatever path your children choose in life, you should always try to understand and embrace their choices. They learn from you, but you should also learn from them.
