Director Statement

“Wisteria” is a story about Italian Catholic guilt personified through a nebulous, spectral dryad. I drew inspiration for this film from my family, watching the customs and traditions brought to the US from Sicily by my grandfather two generations ago and how those values have evolved in a constantly changing world. The D’Albero siblings represent the common familial struggle of deciding what goes in the “keep” box and what goes in the “trash” box when it comes to their upbringing.
